It’s that time of year again and I could not be more excited. Spring is around the corner, baseball is back on TV, and the azaleas have bloomed down in the great state of Georgia. Aside from their college fan base barking at grown men and children, I have nothing but love for Georgia and the surrounding southern states. Any place with a waffle house feels like home. But there is something to say about the weekend that is among us. Friends, family, young and old can all agree that this is the Grand Daddy of sports weekends. This is the epitome of grace and luxury. This is also a marathon where the players are constantly fighting for the best position and trying to slay the beast, which is the second nine. All in pursuit of the holiest of holy grails sports have to offer. A trophy so beautiful it is confined the grounds of this tournament except for the victor who gets to trot gods green earth for 365 days with it and then he must return to the arena for another chance to earn THE GREEN JACKET. Unless you are Gary Player of course. So, hello friends and welcome to my 2026 Masters picks. Roll Tide
Scottie Scheffler +495
Now I am going to be honest here. Scotty doesn’t have a chance in France to win this tournament if he plays like has been playing. If he goes out there and shoots a 75 on Thursday it is OVER. The four-time major champion and world number 1 is in some sort of funk and hasn’t looked great. He has had moments of greatness this year don’t get me wrong but to win this weekend you need to be on your game the moment you step up in the box on “Tea Olive”. If Scottie shows up in form, this thing is a wrap. Someone famously said, “You can’t win the Masters on Thursday, but you certainly can lose it. I think this applies to scooter more than anyone in the field.
John Rahm +910
The two-time major winner and 2023 champion has been rumored to be playing very well. While I am a Rahm guy, I am not a LIV guy and have nothing to back this pick on other than I like the guy. When he was on the PGA Tour he had some moments where I thought he would be the guy everyone bets on week in and week out. But since his 2023 jacket Rahm has played in 9 Majors and finished inside the top 10 FIVE times. So, I expect him to be in the mix of this thing.
Matt Fitzpatrick +2350
I’m going to keep this one short and sweet. If he hits his irons and doesn’t play like a goofball he has a real chance. He is either missing the cut or top 5 not in between. I don’t hate it, this kid is going to get another Major in his career, I am just not sure if it is going to be a green jacket.
Xander Schauffele +1800
This guy just loves being in the hunt on a Sunday. I mean if there is anyone, I am confident is placing inside the top 5 its Xander. This two-time major winner has finished T8 and T10 in his last three Masters with a T2 and T3 finish in 19 and 21 respectfully. This is a guy who is going to win a green jacket sometime over the next ten years. Honestly don’t be surprised if he wins the Masters and then collects the U.S Open Trophy on Father’s Day to complete the career Grand Slam. This is the UConn of golf, he is either going to win or come close, either way a few bucks on him will keep you watching for better or for worse.
JJ Spaun +6900
Up there with scoot, this guy doesn’t stand a CHANCE. But id rather him win than someone like Brian Harmon. JJ did just clutch the Valero Texas open last week and is the defending U.S. Open champion. But I think he is going to need everything in his bag and then some to stand a chance. A dark horse for sure, but if anyone can do it at +6900 odds, it’s the spaunster.
Robert MacIntyre +3500
So, I will be honest I don’t know much about bobby mac, but I do know he is a Brian Harmon. If this guy wins don’t say I didn’t tell you. I mean he was in the final group at the Players until he decided to go swimming on a few holes and took down Aberg with him. I highly doubt it seeing as he missed the cut last year and the two years, he did play on the weekend he finished 12th and 23rd. This is the weekends 0 and 00, may as well put a chip in the middle because when it hits you won’t be as mad. God, I hate Brian Harmon
Justin Thomas +5400
Oh boy! I love a good comeback story and let me tell you JT IS BACK BABY ROLL TIDE. If he can keep the amount of 8s on the score card to less than one, he has a real shot. He played lights out at the players for about 90% of the tournament. The other 10% looked like my friend Charles out there hacking in the rough. No shade to JT since he’s coming back from an injury, but it is time to pony up and get another major while the getting is good. I think he wants to win this one, I just hope he doesn’t psyche himself out before we hit Saturday. Weather depending, I love JT to be top 5 and think he has a real chance to win.
Colin Morikawa +3100
Plain and simply put, this guy has the best irons in the world when he’s on. I mean 190 and below he has a real shot to sneak it in 6 inches on any given shot. If his irons are ironing, then this thing is over. If he pulls out on the second hole because of his back, I will lose my mind.
Ludvig Aberg +1650
Young gun who loves the weekend and has finished top 10 in his only two appearances at Agusta with a 2nd place finish in 2024. This kid is without a doubt going to win a few majors and this could be his year. We did see that collapse at the beginning of the season, but I am not sure if that is going to play a role in his mental state this week. He can either pony up and be the phenom the world is expecting him to be, or he can be Jordan Speith and crawl in a cave when times are tough. Only problem is Jordy has a green jacket. I would say this is the safest bet on board. Unless he phones it, I would expect Ludvig to draw the green jacket on Sunday evening.
Cam Young +2300
Only a few have ever won the masters following a victory at TPC Sawgrass. And by a few, I mean Tiger Woods and Scottie Scheffler. Sorry Cam, don’t see you getting into that club.
